Trialists Impress in Chinatown Kick
The extended Summer saw Grand St offer a warm welcome to trialists Daniel “Zlatan” Eskils from Sweden, and Brooklyn’s Jeff “kinks” Kinkle and Brian “Governor” McGowen. All three put in assured displays and could figure in Saturday’s games.

Junk Yard Soccer at Willets Point Queens
As the NY Red Bulls and Galaxy battled on Sunday afternoon, a variant of the game was on show at Willets Point, Queens. An industrial arena carved out from shipping containers and junkyards was the setting for the Iron Triangle Cup. The tournament hosted 24 teams, comprising of players from the area’s auto shops, as they scrapped it out in small sided 4 vs. 4 games.
